Executive Bios
Larry Madrid, MSc, D.GE, P.E. – President Mr. Madrid has extensive experience in the fields of civil and geotechnical engineering, construction management, environmental compliance and water quality issues, and has 25 years of technical and managerial responsibility over a wide range of projects. He has managed senior and staff-level personnel including engineers, contractors, geologists, hydrogeologists, field and laboratory technicians, drillers, CADD designers, and environmental scientists. Mr. Madrid is a specialist in the geotechnical and environmental needs in central and south Florida, having been involved a broad range of technical activities such as design-build projects, foundation design and monitoring, water quality testing, construction monitoring, right-of-way corridor studies and investigating sinkholes. He has conducted or supervised over 4000 geotechnical explorations and worked on projects in Florida, South Carolina, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. In 1992, he founded Madrid Engineering Group, Inc., a consulting engineering firm and general contractor based in Florida, which emphasizes civil/geotechnical engineering, construction, and water quality issues. Mr. Madrid has participated in Value Engineering exercises and expert testimony.
Robert Stach, P.G. – Chief GeologistMr. Stach, has extensive experience in the fields of geology, hydrology and environmental science, and has had technical and managerial responsibility over a wide range of projects. He has managed senior and staff-level personnel including engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, field and laboratory technicians, drillers, CADD designers, and environmental scientists. Mr. Stach currently specializes in geologic and environmental fields in central and south Florida, having been involved in a broad range of technical projects such as subsidence investigations, environmental reports, hydrology reports, and expert witness testimony. He has conducted or supervised innumerable investigations for both public and private clients, during a career span of nearly 40 years on projects in Florida, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Sultanate of Oman, Sri Lanka, and East Africa.
Mr. Delashaw, has extensive experience in the fields of civil and geotechnical engineering, analysis and design, construction management, and quality assurance. His primary experience includes project management and technical direction of geotechnical engineering projects, geotechnical field investigations, and analyses for numerous public and private sector clients. Much of his nearly 20 years of geotechnical engineering experience has been gained from working on projects in the areas of dam design and evaluation, shallow and deep foundation systems, earthworks and site development, soil improvement techniques, sinkhole investigation, pavement design, and various pipeline projects, including the use of trenchless technologies. Other project experience includes management of Quality Assurance/Quality Control activities, civil and stormwater design, and surface water hydrology. Predominant project experience includes projects throughout the state of Florida but he has worked on projects in Guam, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, California, and Mississippi.
Lennon Jordan, P.E. – Chief Structural EngineerMr. Jordan, P.E. has extensive experience in the fields of civil and structural engineering, analysis and design, construction administration, and quality assurance. Mr. Jordan’s primary experience includes project management, program management and technical direction of multi-disciplined engineering projects for numerous public and private sector clients. Much of his more than 33 years of engineering experience has been gained from directing civil engineering and planning projects that include transportation corridor studies, roadway design, bridge design, site design, structural design, park and recreation facilities, water resources, utility systems, landfills, and similar projects. Other project experience includes construction management, construction engineering and inspection (CEI), forensic investigations, eminent domain, construction claims, product liability, design errors and omissions, and others. Predominant project experience includes projects throughout the state of Florida but his work extends to South Korea, Puerto Rico, New Mexico, Montana, Louisiana, New Jersey, West Virginia, Virgin Islands, and other project locations.
Brian Murphy, P.G. – Senior Project ManagerMr. Murphy has extensive experience in the fields of landfill permitting, design, and construction/operations management. He has managed permitting, design and QA/QC consultants, construction and liner contractors in the construction and closure of landfills, and hourly and staff-level personnel in the operations and maintenance of the landfills. Mr. Murphy has overseen a broad range of technical activities including: sinkhole investigations, landfill site selection studies, foundation design, landfill stability and liner design, groundwater modeling, construction monitoring, and roadway corridor studies.
David C. Turley, P.E. – Senior Project EngineerMr. Turley is currently serving as a project manager overseeing many of MEG’s subsidence investigations, drilling activities and GIS projects. He has significant experience in watershed management, culvert design and water resources, having completed project planning, design, and construction monitoring services for these projects. Mr. Turley graduated with his degree in civil engineering from the University of South Florida and obtained his professional engineering registration in Florida in 2006.
Scott H. Nyhof, P.G. - Senior Project Geologist
Mr. Nyhof has extensive experience in the fields of geology, hydrogeology and environmental science and currently specializes in geological investigations and environmental evaluations and assessments throughout Florida. He has conducted ground water quality assessments, environmental site assessments, and designed and implemented petroleum-related ground water remediation projects. He has also worked over a 5 year period with a Sand and Gravel mine in Southeastern Florida, exploring rock reserves and designing a 30-year mining plan. During a career span of 25 years, he has worked on projects throughout Florida, in Georgia, Ohio and Idaho.
Mr. Alligood has 8 years of progressive enginering experience in both geotechnial and civil engineering design and managment in Florida and Colorado. Project experience includes work with private and public entities performing design and consulting for utility projects, residential development, subsidence investigation, floodplain delineations, stormwater control and environmental assessments. A graduate of Florida State University, Mr. Alligood holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering with areas of concentration in water resources, geotechnical engineering and environemtnal studies. He brings his expertise to Madrid Engineering to complement the well-diversified staff in performing subsidence investigations and geotechnical/environmental consulting.
Mr. Frederick is currently serving as a structural project engineer. He is diectly involved in structural design projects and subsidence investigations. Mr. Frederick has expeirence in the architectural/engineering field related to the design, inspection, and alteration of new and existing structures. He has experience in the design of concrete, steel, wood and masonry structures for clients in the residential, commercial, educational and religious markets. Mr. Fredeick also has gained much experience with threshold buildings in preparing inspection plans, assisting with field inspections and preparing reports for local building jurisdictions. Mr. Frederick is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on structures.
